For patients to be ‘empowered’ we need to encourage positive challenges and provide them with knowledge. Let them know what we do and for us to not be afraid of doing this. Many patients come to harm due to poor communication, not listened to or unaware of what’s going on. This poster can be used anywhere across healthcare and beyond to encourage patients to ask the right questions and know what to expect.
This is a first in a series of posters aimed to empower patients about what to ask/expect when on a ward. Through the use of visuals, simple communication and direct points; it is expected patients will find it easier to understand what to ask and what to expect. There is no need for long wordy leaflets with complex language. To be more universal, we need to think from a patient perspective
