Welcome

Sonia Sparkles was created in 2018 by Sonia who struggled to find a sense of creativity, freedom and free thinking whilst working in healthcare. There was no space for ideas to flourish, to explore the art of possible or creativity to be welcomed. With this, she set out on the mission to create communities to inspire people, bring more creative thinking into the workplace and start a revolution to rebel against rigid corporatism.

Alongside this, her personal experiences led her to challenge how we communicate with patients, the community and service uses in healthcare. The power of visuals, simple language and images to inspire thinking are often overlooked.

Sonia is fiercely independent, believes feelings matter more than processes and loves to unwind through doodling.

Mission

Her mission is simple: Help people break out of corporate, robotic, hierarchical expectations to a place of free-thinking, simplicity and an empowering culture.

The vision is to help improve healthcare and ultimately the way we engage with patients through the lens of creativity and inclusion.
Most of her energy is split across 3 community groups to achieve her mission: Basic Needs at Work, Improvement Culture Club and Sketchnotes Club. You are welcome to join them all!
Sonia does not believe that status, your job title or what you have studied makes you “superior” in some way. What matters most is your intentions, that “fire in your belly,” being your authentic self and having strong energy to make change happen.

Sonia’s intentions are to help others to feel a sense of connection in the work they do, to break down the barriers of societal expectations and smash permission seeking environments. Having worked healthcare for over 15 years, she understands how important the people who work within it are. She has dedicated her career and professional development to understanding improvement science, creativity and kindness in the workplace.

Sonia biggest achievement and joy is Baby Sparkles who has taught her the curiosity, wonder and imagination that blossoms during our childhood that we need to strive to hold on to as we get older

In this hectic world, doodling and creating illustrations that inspire others is one of the most rewarding things she does, but sometimes it can be hard to sustain between working, studying and first and foremost being a mum. The hours and working into the night crafting designs and stories from her imagination can be both exhilarating and tiring at the same time.

Your support to help her continue to do what she loves and rebalance the hectic demands helps keep her going and producing new content. Your appreciation and contribution will help ensure there is the sparkle in everything she does
